Message Not common to see failures, But there was a time about 6 to 7 years ago that RPS could not get the Sport Street Disc they like to use.
During the time the Disc was not available, they used a Daikin disc, those Daikin disc's were the only ones I ever saw have problems with the spring retainers breaking. As soon as one broke, RPS changed to a different Disc hub. The Daikin disc was only used during a 6 month period, it simply took that long to know there was a problem. We had to replace a number of the Daikin Disc's under Warranty due to the spring retainers breaking.
I have never seen the spring retainers break on the Disc's used since that time. The spring retainer area is significantly stronger and has more area on Disc's used before and after the Daikin disc time frame.
I would be interested in knowing what is broken in your set up, most people wear out clutches in performance cars faster than 80K. I would like to see what might fail for people like your self that are easier on clutches and have them longer. Based on the time frame, you might have the Daikin disc with a broken spring retainer.
